X Games Kickoff Bash featuring Chevy Metal
Join us June 1st downtown at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q for the official X Games Austin Kick-off Bash featuring Chevy Metal!
Chevy Metal was founded some Ten Years Gone plus Five Years more by Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters as an outlet for the legendary drummer to Take It Easy and Come Together with friends to Kick Out The Jams—all without being Under Pressure that comes with stadium crowds, TV cameras and the like.
The first to answer Hawkins’ call of Let There Be Rock and say “You May Be Right, a high octane cover band of brothers is a great idea and I’m The One to play bass” was his comrade in arms in The Birds of Satan, Wiley Hodgden. The Wizard on guitar who rounded out the core Chevy Metal lineup would be Mick Murphy of My Ruin—also of The Birds of Satan cohort.
In the Decade or more Chevy Metal has been plying its trade, familiar Faces joining the core trio have included everyone from Taylor’s brother from another mother Dave Grohl to half the 2011-2012 season cast of Saturday Night Live (which only happened once, but is actually true).
For (event), the Chevy Metal lineup will be Taylor Hawkins, Wiley Hodgden and Mick Murphy.
